Do You Need This App?
By Cheryl Landsman, Customer Service Manager
Have you ever had to call a company and ask a question about their product? You get a very nice person on the phone. You ask a simple question about the product. The very nice person answers your question and you don’t understand a word they have just said. If only there was a way to translate techno-speak.
Halloween in Kansas City means Winterize and VOTE!
By Scott Livingston, National Sales Manager
I love Halloween with the family and with it brings fall decorations for my wife, trick or treating for my kids and winterizing projects for dad. Don’t get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy carving pumpkins, watching the princesses and goblins come by for candy and receiving all the “Almond Joys” that my kids won’t eat. But when the candy highs subside and the jack-o-lanterns are smashed, it is time for me to get the house ready for winter.
Fear of Failure
By Nick Manning, President
“I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.”
–Thomas A. Edison
I have the great blessing to have children who are in high school and beginning their college search, and have also been blessed with some very sharp people here at PRIER who are early in their management careers. The similarity I have noticed from many of these people I am privileged to oversee is their fear of what they perceive to be failure. Certainly the “high schoolers” and the “managers” are at different levels of their lives, but the similarities of what I am calling the fear of failure piqued my interest.
Tackling the Trash: Recycling One Step at a Time
By Joyce McMurry, Accounts Receivable Clerk
Have you jumped on the recycling bandwagon yet? I have… finally. I think the trend really started with garage sales. Everyone loves a bargain, and you never know when someone is looking for a gently used game, book or lamp. If you’re not into garage sales, charities and thrift stores are a great place to donate items or you can put them on Craigslist or Freecycle.
Pat Hogan Joins PRIER as Regional Sales Manager

Counting Your Blessings
By Scott Jones, Warehouse Manager
All of us can make a list of wonderful things that have happened throughout our lives ranging from high school or college graduation to going on an exotic vacation like a cruise or traveling to a faraway destination. Getting married and experiencing the miracle of having children is wonderful as well. Many of us, however, take these milestones for granted and spend a good portion of our time focused on our problems. I guess I am one of those people that needs to be reminded of how fortunate I am and to count my blessings.
Now That Fall is Here...Prepare for Winter
By Maurice Wells, Production Control Supervisor
Are we there yet? It may not feel like it, but if you didn’t already know, Fall officially started this past weekend. Long gone are the days of pools, water parks and 100 degree days, so we hope. Now it’s time for football, cool nights, and autumn colors. It’s also a time when many people begin to winterize and prepare for the coming dreaded WINTER SEASON….aaawwhh. For those that don’t like winter, it doesn’t have to be a scary time. This can be the time to get a few outdoor projects done in preparation of “old man winter”.
